Year Four
Welcome to Year 4
2025/26
We are Owls and Kites Classes.
In Owls class, you will find Mrs Cooper.
In Kites class, you will find Mr Whyte.
Miss Vicki and Mrs Money are our Learning Support Assistants, and work between all four classes in Year 3 and 4.
We also have Miss Della, Miss Steph and Miss Paula who support us in our learning.
Keeping up-to-date:
A large amount of our daily communication will be via Class Dojo. If you have not already signed up, or need an additional login, please let your class teacher know and we will sort this as soon as we can.
Please get in contact via Class Dojo if you have any questions.
Alternatively, please email admin@oaktree.bluekitetrust.org and the Office will forward it to us.
Our School Day:
The door will open at 8.40am, when registers will also open. Please arrive at school promptly, to ensure you are in the classroom on time.
Our playtime is 10.10am - 10.25am.
Our lunchtime is 12.15pm - 1.00pm.
We leave school at 3.10pm.
(If you are running late, please contact the Office as soon as possible.)
Important things to remember:
READING:
- Bring your reading books and reading records on Friday.
- The children should aim to read three times a week.
- Reading points and certificates will be awarded accordingly.
TIMES TABLES:
- The Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) will take place in the two weeks following 1st June 2026.
- It is a national test, carried out on an iPad, which tests knowledge of the times table - with a particular focus on fluency.
- There are 25 questions, with 6 seconds to answer each question.
- We will be doing weekly times tables practice, including a test every Friday.
- Later in the year, we will also provide more specific support to help children learn their tables to 12x12=144.
- Access arrangements can be made for children depending on their need, if necessary.
- For further information in the meantime, please visit: Multiplication Tables Check - 2025 - Timestables.co.uk (this is the website we will use regularly in school to practise).
PE:
- PE takes place every Tuesday (indoor) and every Thursday (outdoors).
- You will need to wear your PE kit to school: plain white t-shirt, dark joggers / shorts, and trainers. If it is cold, please also wear a hoodie or school jumper.
