Meet the Teacher

Thank you to everyone that came to our Meet the Teacher event this evening after school, we hope it was useful.

For those of you who were unable to attend, here are the key points -

Permissions

If you have not already given us permissions information for your child, together with an updated password, could you please do so as soon as possible.  We have a form that you can take away and fill in or you could also respond to the message on Class Dojo.

Homework:

Reading - Please ensure that your child brings their reading book and reading record to school every day.  There are often opportunities during the day for them to read quietly.
Reading is vital, it underpins all of your child's other learning therefore your child is expected to read at least 3 times a week and will get rewards for reading.

Times Tables  - Children in Year 3 need to know their 2,5,10, 3,4 and 8 x tables. They are tested on them weekly and get rewards for knowing their tables.  You can help them at home by practicing counting in 2s, 52, 10s, 3s, 4s and 8s.

Number Bonds
Children in Year 3 should have a secure knowledge of number bonds to 10.  If they are confident in all the ways that 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 can be made then they will be much more successful in their maths lessons.
You can help them practice at home using buttons, counters, biscuits or sweets.

School Uniform

Please ensure that all items of your child's school uniform are labelled, in particular jumpers.  It is much easier to return a lost jumper if it has a name in it.  Many thanks.
