We are Geographers:
Human and physical geography:
- describe and understand key aspects of physical geography, including climate zones, biomes and vegetation belts, rivers, mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes, and the water cycle
Geographical skills and fieldwork:
- use maps, atlases, globes and digital / computer mapping to locate countries and describe features studied
 
We are Scientists:
Rocks:
- compare and group together different kinds of rocks based on their appearance and physical properties
- describe in simple terms how fossils are formed (when things that have lived are trapped within rock)
- recognise that soils are made from rocks and organic matter
We are Mathematicians
Multiplication:
- multiply by 10
- multiply 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers
 
Division:
- divide by 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 with remainders
- divide a 3-digit multiple of 10 by 10
- divide mentally by 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10
- use partitioning to divide
 
Money:
- combine values to make amounts beyond £1
- add amounts in pounds and pence
- subtract from £2, £5, £10
- calculate change beyond £1
We are Authors
Non-fiction: non-chronological report
- organisational devices to create a non-chronological report about volcanoes and the Earth’s structure
- language devices to make appropriate vocabulary choices to fit for purpose / audience

Fiction:
- describing setting

Fiction:
- diary writing in character, using the first person, and the past tense

Reading Vipers:
- developing reading and comprehension skills through weekly text foci
