The Governors at Oaktree are committed to ensuring that all the children in our care have the opportunity to reach their potential. We will do this by challenging and supporting the staff, as well as working with and for the pupils and their families, in order to ensure that Oaktree continues to provide an educational experience that equips each child with the skills, knowledge and personal qualities to become successful learners and responsible citizens.
The Governors would like to thank everyone for all their hard work since September. As usual the families have supported their children on lots of different occasions, thank you for your continued support. The recent Christmas productions went very well and a huge congratulations to all the children and the staff involved with those.
The Governors have met several times since September, in their committees and as the Full Governing Body. We have had to make decisions regarding the budget, the school premises and monitoring the progress of the children in our care.
May we take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and peaceful 2016.

The Governors would like to welcome everyone back after a lovely summer break. We hope you all enjoyed a good rest and everyone is ready for another successful year. Welcome to new children, families and staff, we hope you enjoy your time with us!
I must comment on the final assembly last term. It was wonderful to see so many parents supporting their children and it was good to see so many children collecting awards for their hard work over the year. It was also good to celebrate the attendance prize and well done to those who managed 100% attendance!
It was a privilege to congratulate Year 6 on their SATS results, a great reflection on their hard work and the support from all the staff supporting them.
Thanks go to everyone for their hard word last year and we are looking forward to working together with you all to ensure that Oaktree continues to be a happy and successful school.

Update November 2014
We have had a Full Governing Body meeting where we discussed the School's vision for the year and how we as Governors can be linked with this and the school development priorities. The three committees, Finance and Staffing, Premises and Curriculum have all met for their initial meetings of the year.
It was good to see so many families at the harvest assembly and a huge thank you for the wonderful display of gifts. The children sat beautifully through the assembly including those who haven't been in school for very long. It was also a good opportunity to ask you all to think about becoming a Parent Governor and thank you to those who took the trouble to talk to me afterwards. Do let the school know if you want further information.
It was great to hear how much the children enjoyed Pencelli, the photos look brilliant!
Well done to everyone at Oaktree for your hard work during the recent OFSTED Inspection. The Governors are delighted with the outcome, a testament to you all for your commitment to the children in our care.

The Governors would like to thank the children, their families and the staff for their generosity in raising so much money for two very important causes. Well done all of you and particularly the children for thinking of others who are near and those who are far away but still need our help.
Well done to Year 6 and all your hard work with the SATs last week, we know how much effort you have put into your work! Thank you to all the staff who supported you so well.
The committees have all met recently and we have discussed the budget, staffing, pupil progress and looking after the building. We hope to see work started soon on changing the entrance into the main building and the main office.
